Half-space General Multigroup Transport Theory*
A method for solving various half-space multigroup transport problems for the case of a general transfer matrix is explained. A non-linear integral equation for the emergent distribution of the albedo problem is derived. Then, by using the full-range completeness of the infinite medium eigenfunctions, the distribution inside the half-space is obtained from the emergent distribution. Finally, th...
متن کاملThe FN Method for Multigroup Transport Theory with Upscattering
An integral transform technique and the FN method are used to develop solutions to a class of multigroup radiation-transport problems. The multigroup model considered allows an anisotropic scattering law and transfer from any group to any group. Computational aspects of the developed solution are discussed, and especially accurate numerical results are reported for two test cases.
متن کاملImproved Half Vector Space Light Transport
In this paper, we present improvements to half vector space light transport (HSLT) [KHD14], which make this approach more practical, robust for difficult input geometry, and faster. Our first contribution is the computation of half vector space ray differentials in a different domain than the original work. This enables a more uniform stratification over the image plane during Markov chain expl...
متن کاملPlane Strain Deformation of a Poroelastic Half-Space Lying Over Another Poroelastic Half-Space
The plane strain deformation of an isotropic, homogeneous, poroelastic medium caused by an inclined line-load is studied using the Biot linearized theory for fluid saturated porous materials. The analytical expressions for the displacements and stresses in the medium are obtained by applying suitable boundary conditions. The solutions are obtained analytically for the limiting case of undrained...
متن کاملTransport Equations for Waves in a Half Space
We derive boundary conditions for the phase space energy density of acoustic waves in a half space, in the high frequency limit. These boundary conditions generalize the usual re ection-transmission relations for plane waves and are well suited for the study of wave propagation in bounded random media in the radiative transport approximation [15]. The high frequency analysis is based on direct ...
